Alicia Trujillo Wade

I am a fine art photographer born and raised in Utah. I was raised going to dance rehearsals, concerts and art museums. My mother is a professional modern dancer and an amazing artist. I chose a different path, I wanted to be an athlete competing in every sport I could and pursuing my dreams of becoming a professional snowboarder. Until I started college I never realized the interest in art my mother instilled in me from a young age. My love for art has grown immensely in the last 5 years as I have pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in photography at Utah Valley University. I love photographing people and places, capturing them in ways that others may not see them. I am driven by conceptual ideas, and create my work with inspiration from personal memory. In 2008 my brother and I bought motorcycles and planned a summer trip to Guatemala. We drove 5,000 miles and spent the summer exploring new lands and volunteering for people in need. That trip changed my life forever. It gave me the hope and confidence that I can accomplish anything. Last year I married an amazing man and fully intend on having a sweet little family with him. I hope to follow in my mothers footsteps and help my children have an understanding and appreciation for the arts.
