Visual Art – Indianapolis

I am a multimedia artist from Indiana. I live in an old house in Fortville with my husband, Dave, and our two huskies, Rory and Gibson. I work from my home studio that Dave helped me design and build to work for me. When I am in there I am surrounded by light, raw cedar wood and things that make me happy. Plus, there is usually a dog or two. I studied under a well-known artist from the Netherlands, Antonious Reamaekers, starting at the age of 9. I went on to take private lessons in oil paint and watercolor all throughout my youth and have continued practice on my own ever since. I started working with pen and ink and micron pen about three years ago and fell in love with that combined with my traditional watercolor techniques. I love the idea that the watercolor gives realism and the pen brings you out of that and into a world that is slightly skewed. Music is also a huge part of my life and work. Many of my pieces are, in fact, named after a song or album that I was listening to while I worked on it. You will find several pairs of headphones in the studio always and they are usually screaming an ever-changing playlist.
