Amber Patterson

Visual Art – Los Angeles

The word “mandala” is from the Indian language of Sanskrit, which loosely translated means “circle”. Amber constructs her art by repurposing hardware and spare parts, meticulously hand-gluing on each individual piece for a fresh take on traditional mandala design. Utilizing industrial textures and finishes with natural wood surfaces, she creates stunning, one-of-a-kind geometric display pieces. Growing up in Oregon, Amber has a keen connection to the outdoors, and is often inspired by the symmetry found in nature and the mathematical principals of ‘sacred geometry’ therein. Throughout many cultures, mandalas possess religious significance and are sometimes used as a spiritual tool for creating a sacred space, or to aid in meditation. Mandalas are precise unified structures that achieve perfect radial balance, and are said to transmit positive energy and healing to the environment ant to those who view them.
