Andrea Woodward is the passionate force behind Hermitage Dance Academy (HDA), a journey that began in 1997 while she was still studying at Cumberland University. From its humble beginnings as a single-room studio with just 50 students, Andrea's dedication has transformed HDA into a thriving institution. Now boasting five spacious studios, a vibrant dancewear store, and a flourishing competition team, HDA is a testament to Andrea's vision and commitment. But Andrea's impact extends far beyond the walls of her academy. She's become a beacon in the dance community, sought after for her teaching prowess and choreographic brilliance. Her talents have taken her across the country, leading master classes and crafting choreography for studios nationwide including 10+ years of touring as a master teacher on the KAR Convention National Tour. Recognition has followed Andrea at every step of her journey. HDA's rise to prominence was marked by accolades from the FDC, including a remarkable ranking as high as #1 in the Southeast region and #10 nationwide. Andrea's students, guided by her tutelage, have garnered numerous awards and scholarships, embarking on diverse paths in the dance world, from collegiate teams to professional stages and beyond. Their achievements, including notable appearances on platforms like "So You Think You Can Dance" season 15, are a testament to Andrea's mentorship. Throughout her illustrious career, Andrea's choreography has captivated audiences and judges alike, earning her prestigious awards year after year. Her dedication to her craft and her students has been recognized with Teacher of the Year and Choreographer of the Year many times over. Beyond her achievements in dance, Andrea holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Cumberland University. But her true passion lies in nurturing the next generation of artists and entrepreneurs.
