Visual Art – Minneapolis
Born and raised in Austin, MN and have always been an artist ever since I could hold a pencil. I went to a private school that did not have an art class. So naturally I got all my generals done and signed up for art classes at the public school. After that a graduated as a cosmotologist because I couldn't afford art school. But it didn't quite meet the artistic creativeness I was looking for. I had some normal jobs here and there. Then I landed an amazing job that not only was great for me as an artist but fit my personality! I was professional licensed tattoo artist for 7 years. However it took a tole on my wrists and back and I am no longer in the business and miss it very much. However it did give me more time to work on my freelance art and what I wanted to do for myself. This is where I began to get my name out there more and attend art fairs. I am also currently an art instructor at canvas and chardonnay in Rochester
, MN and have been for the past 4 years. I take commissions for anything from abstract to portraits and everything inbetween. I mainly paint these days as drawing tends to make my wrists sore. However it doesn't completely stop me from sketching or using markers as well. I do not like to settle on one medium or style of art. I paint with oils, acrylics, and water colors. Sometimes I combined mediums as well. My style is hard to explain but my art is a lot like myself, loud bold and colorful. It is whimsical, alternative, realistic and sometimes macabre. I love using old frames and even metal wall decor that I find at garage sales or second hand stores and than recreate my own work. My work resembles a mix of my personal interests and influences, such as tattoos, horror movies, me funny sarcastic bold personality, love for animals, love for family, and love for nature. My current and newest adventure I have started is a face painting business so I can combined my love for kids, art and fun! Which is called Fun Faces here in Rochester, MN.
