Anthony Tong Original Paintings

I am an artist living in Ancaster, Ontario, Canada. I was a late bloomer to painting and only started painting in July 2018 at the ripe age of 53. I specialize primarily in photorealism of landscape, portrait and animals in acrylic, oil and watercolor. My inspiration comes from everything that happens around us that had some impact in my life from Toronto winning the NBA championship to Covid lockdowns. In my paintings, I try to reflect my perspective of our ever-changing world. Everything is changing from a simple wrinkle on our nose to the very landscape that defines our world. I try to capture that moment, that feeling and that composition. I will give it the utmost care and attention to details so that the viewer can feel as though they are there. Chinese calligraphy is also a passion of mine. It is somewhat like painting word by word and composing a body of text that is beautiful, harmonious and captivating. Like painting it is relaxing and meditative. Chinese watercolor paintings have long included calligraphy on them to compliment and further express the image.
