Aquatic Alex Illustration

Aquatic Alex is a nickname that I have always deeply resonated with, not only because of my love for cheesy alliteration, but also because I feel more connected to water than to land. Now, my business is called Aquatic Alex Illustration, LLC. Born in Miami to very active parents, and surrounded by amazing artwork, it’s no wonder that I became an artist, athlete, and nature lover. I’ve always been very passionate about being active and drawing. At 14, I went to Design and Architecture Senior High in Miami. In May 2019, I graduated with Honors from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. Currently, I am a freelance illustrator/graphic designer in Miami. I also work part time as an artist assistant for local Miami artist, Laura Chirino. When I’m not at work, I'm spending time in nature or practicing pole sport/dance at Aerial Fitness Miami. Something that has always been very important to me in art to use my nature illustrations to teach children about animals, so that they can grow to love and respect them, and the planet. My nature illustrations have been published on ReadWorks.org, and shown in Miami, New York City, and in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France. I have also made illustrations that have been published in the books of local writers. Through making art, I hope to spread joy and positivity to everyone I meet. Ultimately, my goal is to be balanced between excelling in art and excelling in pole sport. In my opinion there’s nothing stopping me from doing both!
