Arbor Upcycle is the only company in San Francisco dedicated to salvaging and milling downed trees in San Francisco. Arbor Upcycle founder Remy Hummer builds furniture exclusively from San Francisco trees thats would be typically destined for the landfill. From the perspective of a certified arborist Remy labors to retain the wild spirit and character of the tree in each of his pieces. Every piece is identified by its true species and neighborhood in San Francisco where the tree once stood. Arbor Upcycle is not only salvaging trees but also some of San Francisco’s oldest residing residents and in doing so is salvaging SF’s heritage in the face of a rapidly changing urban landscape.
