Alyssa Carbonara

Visual Art – Milwaukee

My name is Alyssa Carbonara and I am a fine artist based out of Chicago and Milwaukee, currently attending the Milwaukee Institute of Art Design for New Studio Practice (Fine Art). I predominantly do colored pencil realism but I love to work in all mediums including oil/acrylic/watercolor paint, pen and ink, and mixed media. I've recently began branching out into less conventional mediums such as embroidery and printmaking. I am a huge animal lover so my favorite thing to capture is people's best furry companions in a photorealistic pet portrait. There's something so specific about doing someone's pet. Even though their companion might look like every other type of that pet, the owner knows exactly what sets their furry friend apart from the rest. Capturing that specific likeness, to me, is one of the best parts about doing pet portraits. In a broader sense, I love to capture the natural world in botanical illustrations. My goal as an artist is to spread the beauty of animals, plants, and a myriad of different natural elements in a work of art.
