Fashion – Toronto

Toronto based aspiring fashion designer and artist, Arushi Chopra, has had a passion for the arts since she was a toddler. She has been acquiring the building blocks of becoming a well-rounded designer through taking classes in art, sewing, patternmaking, and graphic design since 2010. Having just finished studying abroad in England, Arushi is currently in her third year of the Fashion Design program at Ryerson University. She has had the opportunity to showcase her work at several galleries and events across the Greater Toronto Area. In 2018, Arushi showcased her first clothing collection in Italy, at Rome Fashion Week. She exhibited her Spring/Summer 2018 collection titled New Dialect, on the Altaroma runway in January. Currently, Arushi is inspired by the fight for diverse representation. Her New Dialect collection illustrates her story of growing up as a Canadian-Indian. By combining popular western and Indian silhouettes, Arushi hopes to inspire Canadians to wear and educate themselves on international fashion. After graduating from Ryerson, she plans on embodying a brand that strives to represent cross cultural fashion in mainstream media.
