Brushstroke of Midnight by The Casual Reply

In 2014, Kendra W. Houston wanted to be the Van Gogh painting Starry Night for Halloween. With a lack of good options online and her background as an artist, she decided to DIY it on a white dress using fabric paint. The responses of amazement and requests for similar pieces that she got that night (and other times she wore the dress) prompted her to start a hand-painted clothing service. This expanded into creating her own collections and she now paints “Brushstroke of Midnight” clothing full-time, transforming cast-off secondhand wear into fresh, one-of-a-kind pieces of sustainable fashion. She uses machine-washable paint for these truly durable and functional wearable works of art. Kendra also continues to practice the other art mediums she loves on the side.
