Visual Art – Seattle

I am an adventurous person and I love the thrill of a challenge. This year I have taken up two new hobbies; skydiving and running half marathons. I find inspiration in the most random places; at 13,000 ft diving out of a plane, a blossoming tree in my yard, the way the sun sparkles off the lake. The intent of my work is to share the beauty that I see with others through watercolor, acrylics, glue, pumice and photos; basically anything I can get my hands on at the time. I’m influenced by Jackson Pollock, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali and Georgia O’Keefe. I think a little unconventionally and very abstractly. In the fall of 2010 I left my retail management job and set the wheels in motion to create my own business. By Jessica Johnson was open for business on January 5, 2011. With this venture I was able to dedicate my life to the two things I find the most fulfilling; art and philanthropy. This year I have partnered with Susan G. Komen of Puget Sound to make my business “Passionately Pink” for all of February and I'm getting ready to go for another round of fundraising in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October. I have partnered with Soles 4 Souls to help collect over 300 pairs of shoes to aid them in changing as many lives. Recently one of my photos was auctioned off to raise funds for Lifelong AIDS Alliance here in Seattle. In the words of Winston Churchill-We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. Help me make my dream come true by voting for me. Find me on the web at byjessicajohnson.com
