So I was born and raised in the Bay Area, CA in the 90s. The sounds, vibes, and energy of that place during such a vibrant time has always resonated with me. I like to think that the environment I grew up in, can be seen and felt through my work. It's a loud, colorful, place, with lot of soul and culture in its aesthetics. I've always tried to incorporate that into my work. I tend to emphasize clean lines, implied textiles and composition, with flat colors that I make pop. I love using mixed mediums in my work because it adds dialogue and depth that isn't too on the nose. I would characterize my work as synesthesia articulated through an era. It’s fashion, and color work with an urban, stylized undertone . My work is neat, clean, and thoughtful. I'm deco meets color theory, meets Black sit coms in the 90s. I love illustrating that in my work.
