Caitlin DeSorbo

In 2008 I received a BS in Art Education from Central Connecticut University and am currently teaching ceramics and sculpture at Berlin High School. Recently I have returned to Central for graduate school. Within my graduate program I am focused on creating two bodies of work. The first being hand-built ceramic figures. I begin each sculpture with an emotion or experience and then build and design a figure to represent my interpretation of that feeling. I am also creating wheel-thrown pieces with carvings. I enjoy creating patterns and designs on the surface of the pieces and love how texture brings something interesting and unique to an ordinary piece.
