Carmine Diaz

Visual Art – Denver

Under the moniker "BLK MTL ", an acronym that stands for "Born Loser Killing Myself to Live", Artist Carmine G. Diaz first moved to the city of Denver, and began working on what now many have claimed to be, An Absolute Legacy of Work, Superseding any efforts in recent past history from any other known artists of our time. After burning bridge after bridge in the abyss of a 9-5 (just-over-broke) lifestyle, He soon became very much aware that the only way out of the trappings of modern existence in which we all have succumbed to at some points in our lives, was to become clear as to what he wanted to make of his "Do or Die"situation at the time, and in his case, Both Making Art and Dropping Dead were really one in the same. Dropping Dead as in , dropping out of his OLD SELF .. a shedding of skin , in the wake of a REBIRTH. "In definition, that is what BLK/MTL stands for." So in exacting a radical yet strategic exit plan , he became quickly engaged with being immersed in the creative process that had a machine like output of productivity, a sense of bravery and integrity which instantly gave him notoriety among peers as a live artist at various warehouse afterparties and overall in the local underground music circuit. With heavy ties into the hip-hop, punk, and EDM scenes, Carmine made a huge impact as co-founder and member of the infamous PRIMERDOME DIY Art COLLECTIVE. For many years he worked to set the neo hardcore visual premise which helped cultivate the groups identity and branding. The Primerdome DIY Art Collective became widely recognized as a local street art buzz, which continues still today. After taking a much needed , brief hiatus , Mr. Diaz is a New Man ; returning to Colorado with a fresh outlook , Displaying what he calls "Unapologetic Reinvention ". Which may come to a surprise for some of his old fans , with over 9,000 + created works in circulation and credited under the title of "BLK / MTL" , now "#YOUICIDE" represents a series of multi - genre wielding, color soaked , dreamscape images aggressively capturing emotion frame by frame, while focusing mainly on his RAW technique and process , rather than the completed, character driven content of his earlier works. Still Loyally tipping a hat to the realm of street art as being a major influence, "#YOUICIDE " offers a broader spectrum ,opening unlimited free forming ideas for the viewer to co - collaborate upon. "Art within a constant STAGE OF PROGRESSION .." Since the work of a TRUE , RAW , ARTIST IS NEVER DONE ... THIS IS THE WORK OF CARMINE G. DIAZ : A RAW ARTIST
