Fashion – Melbourne

Carol Yang is one of the Hons student studying in the Bachelor of Fashion (Design) (Honours) at RMIT University. Till 2019, she has been studied in this field for more than 5 years, which includes 2 year professional fashion design studying in China. 8 Fashion collections were created by her and part of the design displayed in Melbourne Fashion Week, 2018. In the same year, one of her design was showed on the Broken Heel Festive for a Drag Queen performance. Last year, she was organised more than 5 professional creators for her final photo shoot twice. Moreover, she has been the part of the participator to organise a Public fashion runway in Dockland. For her design aspect, she focuses on using different dyeing technique and exploring her own dyeing method to create the novel visual effect, and also balance soften and harden silhouette in the work. Based on her nationality, China, she is more amusing in the creativity but not crazy direction. Pushing Chinese fashion from ‘Made in China’ to ‘Designed in China’ is her purpose. Therefore, Carol practice to rediscover the native traditional elements, and present the rich spiritual connotation of Chinese national characteristics in the design.
