Christina Gurnham Alvarez was a Washington DC native for over 30 years, recently moved to Seattle, WA to pursue growing her small business that produces handmade luxury shaving tools at woodrazor.com . Christina is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Film and Photography. In her studies Christina minored in metalsmithing, a skill that later was integrated into her wood working.
After taking some wood working classes at her local community center, Christina became interested in wood working and pursued more study. After selling some shaving sets at her local crafts fair, she saw that there was something interesting about making a shaving set that integrated natural gemstones. Now she has integrated metal working Christina has been able to produce shaving sets that can not be made anywhere else.
Christina left her full time job in 2013 to pursue woodworking full time. Christina is enjoying her career as a woodworker and thanks her supporters, friends, and family for her success.
