Visual Art – Denver

I was born to be an artist! From a very young age, I became interested in drawing. At 12 years of age, I began using graphite, colored pencils and colored pens. I discovered oils and acrylic paints in my high school art class. That is when I learned that my artistic talent was in painting. When I became a student at the Art Institute of Colorado in 2008, I started painting again. I learned the fundamentals of design, and I use those skills in my art pieces. As an Interior Designer and artist, I am very fortunate to be working and living my true passion. My world travels while serving in the Army have given me a deeper perspective as an artist to paint my pieces with strong detailed elements making the art speak for itself. Unique attributes about my art are that I like to paint large-scale images of smaller elements of nature like feathers and flowers. I like to capture movement and personality in my “spirit animals” as they tell their own story. My art pieces are cheerful, bringing good energy to any space in a room. As an artist I continue to develop my skill and gain inspiration from other artists especially my mentor Farrell Cockrum. His influence has taught me to paint loosely and open-mindedly letting the painting tell its own story. My mission as an artist is to share my inner beauty with you.
