Lauren Nicole Berichon

Lauren Nicole Berichon has been taking photographs for the past ten years. She attended MHCC's Professional Photography Program 2008-2010. Lauren specializes in Black & White Fine-Art Photography -- "My eye's are like a viewfinder - I see pictures everywhere I look. I'm drawn to texture and love to capture a mood in images...photographs are so magical. Here is this box in my hands that allows me to capture what my eyes see...what my heart connects to...in one moment. That is pretty amazing." Lauren loves taking photographs because they represent beautiful intimate moments in time captured, she holds very close to her heart. "If I won 'Photographer of the Year 2011' it would be such an amazing oppurtunity for me to start my dream professional photography career. As an artist I take my adversities and channel it into my work; I have my camera tattooed on my arm to remind me that despite times of destruction, to create. That despite the ugly in the world, there is still so much beauty inbetween." Lauren is twenty four years old and lives in Portland, Oregon.
