Film – Washington, D.C.
For 18 years, I have worked for national television networks like NBC, ABC, COX and CNN covering Washington D.C. politics and important news events all over the world. And as my career took me to more than 20 countries on five continents, I also witnessed first hand how the scourge of racism plagues our nation and our planet - how the darker skinned members of every society I visited tended to be held in lower regard. I wanted to use my access and experience to address the issue on screen but knew the documentary film world was different than the news environment I was accustomed to.
