I've been making art for longer than I can remember. And I've started and shifted and abandoned and reignited more creative projects than I can remember. Since graduating from art school in '08, I've walked that tricky line of following my bliss as an artist while also making a living and supporting my family. It's been crazy to stay balanced while my own artistic interests range all over. Painting. Drawing. Photography. Song-writing. Poetry. I've tried it all and more, but I just keep coming back to my original passion: Illustration.
I also love teaching art, which I do full-time, pursuing my illustration projects during summer breaks.
And I'm still giving it my all no matter what. I've got two new kids book projects that are coming along more quickly than anything I've ever worked on. Sometimes I feel like all I've got left is this sketchbook. But these days, the sketchbook's on fire. Maybe I am too.
