Emma De Bovary

Montreal Based artist that primarily focuses on illustrating the ambiguities of female sexual anxieties. From celebrating single life, to BDSM, to everyday sexism, to romance and more... I use the theme of sexuality in a way that can affect most heterosexual women, by confronting my own relationship with female stereotypes as well as my own sexuality; my work also strives to create a critical discourse about contemporary feminist issues. We are a society of sex in which sex defines our individuality. What I’m interested in, is revealing the harsh reality that society tends to veil as taboo subjects and deliberately representing the truth about unspoken feelings. I believe I want to provoke the spectators and encourage them to reconsider their own everyday actions.
