Visual Art – Dallas - Fort Worth

B. 1973 I started painting in 2005, but has always had a interest in creating art ever since I can remember( I actually remember drawing things out of the family Bible when I was 5). My passion in creating art did not start until December 2001 when I was pregnant with my first son, J.R., and was briefly put on bed rest for 2 weeks. During that time I was encouraged to draw, which was something done inconsistently until then. As time went by, eventually I began using color pencils and pastels to create artwork which mostly would consist of floral and landscape. Recently in the last 5 years I have done alot of abstract paintings also. After 3 years, I had a strong interest in oil painting and began taking classes once a week for a year and a half, while working full-time nights as a respiratory therapist. In 2007 when I had my daughter,Tylar, it was nearly impossible to continue painting classes, especially when I went back to work full-time. With that in mind, my husband and my continued to encourage me to find the time to paint, if that was something I really wanted to do, even if it was for only 30 minutes every other night (when the kids were in bed!). In 2008, when I had a bit time to create, I decided to take more time to paint by using what I learned in class. Since then I've had many opportunities to participate in local art shows in the Dallas Fort Worth area. As of August 2018 I have started teaching painting classes and hosting painting parties!. What inspires me to paint is the idea that I can blend whatever colors I want to make it more interesting or more colorful so I paint what I envision. I want to thank my husband and family for supporting and encouraging me to continue press towards my goals as an artist and I want to thank my fans for their support also!! Denise
