Sally Dunbar

Visual Art – Canberra

Sally Dunbar lives and works in Canberra. She graduated from the Australian National University in 2002, majoring in Printmaking and Drawing, and completed her Diploma in Education at the University of Canberra in 2003. Sally then travelled to Japan where she taught English in Hiroshima Prefecture for two years. The inspiration of Japanese art is reflected in a lot of her work. On her return to Canberra, is currently a primary school Art Teacher. Whenever Sally gets a chance she does what she loves most - making art. My Work My latest body of work is created in a variety of media. I love using lots of beautiful papers with which I collage the background. I also use found images and integrate them into my work. As a finish, I build up texture using a fine black pen to create a mesh-like effect over the whole image.. I am particularly interested in using animals in my work, as I am fascinated by nature. I like people to have their own interpretations of my work without my intervention.
