Artistically Beasty

Visual Art – Los Angeles

Many people ask where I get my artistic inspiration from, and most of the time, I don't know how to answer that question. I began my artistic adventure as a Junior in high school, while having to choose an elective class. I chose ART (although I had never known how to draw). All of my assignments came natural to me and I was actually good at what I did. Slowly but surely, life began to consume me, and ART slowly began to fade away as I focused on my career in the medical field. In 2010, I was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer, and during my 3 year battle with aggressive chemotherapy, I was no longer able to work. It was during this time of my life that I decided to tap back into my artistic creativeness, painting custom portraits and incorporating literal objects into my work. Developing mixed media techniques while specializing in acrylic paint. This was my way of escaping reality. To meditate. To recharge. In inspiration to my struggle, you will notice the beautiful people that I paint, do not smile. Yet, you can still see the passion in their eyes. If I was able to send a message through my art it would be that everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. So be kind...Always.
