Enigma Of New York
Visual Art – Washington, D.C.
The Enigma of New York (Nima Veiseh) started his training in art as a world traveler fifteen years ago. Having the good luck to travel to over 40 countries over the course of his time, in each place he would study and document how culture and technological capability evolved together, to give each place a unique way of manifesting its own form of artistic expression. He considers himself a scientist of the natural world as much as he considers himself a scientist of painting, and in his worldview, the two are inseparable.
While his formal training in abstract art comes from his time at the Art\'s League on 57th Street in New York City, he has acquired degrees from Georgetown University, Columbia University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. For the last six years, he has been professionally painting, and distilling his process into a body of work that draws on his studies and travels, while developing a niche that is unique in its own right.
