Painting is an infinitely minute part of my personality - Salvador Dali... I’m an Aquarius the eccentric sign! My name is Gabrielle Alicea most just call me Gabby. As I like to say “I was born in New York, but raised all over”. As a child I always loved drawing, and coloring. Anything I saw that interested me became a victim of my drawing craze; mermaids, princesses, family members, you name it. By the age of 3 I upgraded from stick figures to recognizable body features, with fingers, and toes. I remember drawing my first self-portrait at the age of 5; I tried so hard to make the picture look just like me. Proudly, I showed the drawing to my mom thinking it was my best work at the time. I have the worst memory in the world, but for some reason I remember drawing that self-portrait. I believe that moment in my life was when I realized “the more I draw the better I can get”. Now Portraits and people are my specialty; I love manipulating the lines of human anatomy. Color pastels are my tricks of the trade, and with them I’ve made some of my best, and favorite pieces. I’m always challenging myself with my artwork therefore you will see a good variety in the materials I use, and illustrations I make. My pieces aren’t intended; I usually start out with an idea that gets completely transformed by emotions I get while creating.
