Visual Art – Canberra

I'm a 43 Year old mother passionate about creating. I teach at schools, run workshops and paint whenever I have the opportunity. I have only begun selling my work in the last two years. I am currently part of a co-operative of designers called Trove. We have a shop front in Gold Creek. The process of creating is important and rewarding to me. I paint intuitively and create because I feel I need to. Underlying my art is a passion for creativity and authenticity. I love the process of creating and exploring new mediums. I need to experiment and play rather than adhere to a strict set of art rules. I also like to challenge self imposed perceptions and boundaries. I believe it's the quirks and imperfections in the art that add value to my work. I build up layers of colour and texture using a variety of mediums. The layers often hold personal narrative and align with my spiritual journey. I love an element of mystery to remain as part of my work. My own work is partially abstract. I am attracted to the human form, birds and sea creatures. These symbols will often reveal themselves in my paintings. My dream is to be able to paint full time and have my art in international galleries.
