Visual Art – Miami

Wax is a 24 year old Florida local with a passion for the arts and social/environmental improvement. Her paintings typically reflect her understanding of human origins and purpose, as well as the connection between Homo sapiens and their ever evolving environment. Each creation is a method by which she can dive into the deeper questions she has towards existence and translate her inner thoughts into visual representations of her perspective towards the world. Wax has won three awards in her hometown of Charlotte, NC for a dress made of recycled plastic knives, as well as had a piece showcased in the NC governor's office. She has also showcased her art in several local art shows in West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami. Last year she had a place in a gallery during Art Basel Miami, and is expected to show again this coming December. First Wax Tree is also hanging in a local gallery in Lake Worth, FL. Charcoal and acrylic paints are her most common weapons of choice (although she experiments with a wide variety of media), and she is currently in the process of creating her first large scale and interactive installation from recycled straws, bottle caps, and plastic bags in order to advertise the harm of single use plastics.
