I grew up dancing, reading, and finding treasures in the desert: sticks and rocks, a pair of rusty pliers I just happened to need, Springtime playhouses, and a deep connection to being. I grew up a bit more, completed a BA in Philosophy in a deciduous forest in TN, spend some time in Bali, became a massage therapist, gave birth to two boys to teach me about chaos, became a yoga teacher, and moved back to the desert where we now live in old converted school bus. Here I once again found a great treasure from the desert, the trimmed branches from the mesquite trees. I suddenly realized I could make really big earrings that would be light enough to wear all day. I found myself not just making something beautiful, but working meaning, mantras and symbol into each piece. Each piece is a healing talisman, a bit of ordinary insect-eaten wood that through its own imperfect beauty and symbolic meaning reminds us that the sacred is all around and within us.
