Gypsy Skulls
Visual Art – Calgary
I was born and raised in Calgary, and have just recently returned to this wonderful city as of last summer with my partner in crime. Prior to moving back, I was going to school in the Okanagan, working on my masters in clinical exercise physiology. It was the stress of school that led me to discover Gypsy Skulls. I needed a creative outlet and found inspiration in the stunning nature of Kelowna, BC. I now have new stresses in my life (being a new mom!) and still find that being able to create keeps me grounded. Creating for me is an outlet. It affords me the opportunity to let go and just be in that moment and see what happens. Sometimes the results are terrible and I love that just as much. It always provides a good laugh. Sometimes, you create the most beautiful thing in the world and I can hardly believe that this creation came from me. Each piece is an expression of me in some way and I love that people identify with that.
