Leanne Atkins (aka) Annie.
Leanne began drawing and painting from a young age. After finishing High school and having a keen interest in both Art and Agriculture Leanne choose Art and attended Hornsby Tafe completing an Associated Diploma in Fine Art. Following that she obtained a Bachelor of Visual Arts at The University of Newcastle majoring in photography.
Leanne returned to her love of painting in 2000 after her first daughter Hannah was born. When her father began Rustic Woodwork in his retired dairy at Stroud Road in the Hunter Valley NSW Leanne successfully sold painted works on old milk cans and cross cut saws throughout Australia. Working with her father she finished off many wood works with traditional Australian Landscape Paintings.
In 2006 Leanne moved to Dungog in the Hunter Valley NSW. With her love of the land and country lifestyle her new surroundings once again inspired her. She painted the simple detail surrounding her from a daisy growing in the garden to a portrait of a local identity.
After joining Dungog Arts Society Leanne has exhibited her artwork at Tocal Agricultural Show, Gresford Show, Art & All that Jazz Festival Wallabadah ,3 Village Art Tocal , Art in the Vines Broke, Singleton Art prize, Walcha Creative Arts Centre NSW, Gorgeous Hair 4 U Clarence Town NSW,& The Long Room Cafe Dungog . Leanne has also donated works to Dungog Shire Relay for Life raising funds for the Cancer Council NSW.
Leanne is excited by the next step in her artistic journey currently studying a Diploma of Graphic Design through CATC Commercial Arts Training College. Some of her paintings are featured on her website: www.anniesartworx.com.au
