\"I want to do that!\" With all the thought and insight that a 13 year old could muster, those were the words middle school aged Matt DeYoung said that started his journey into photography. Matt was looking at old negatives and photos his dad had taken of his drag racing adventures and some nature shots. Still holding on to that first love to this day Matt\'s passion is capturing the excitement of the track, the open road, the cars that drive them past and present along with nature in the still frame of a camera lens and making it come alive to the viewer.
As Matt has grown in talent and intellect since then he has also seen his dream evolve into making a difference with his craft. His upcoming Light gallery being displayed at various venues around the Phoenix area is a culmination of his art and faith coming together to provoke thought and offer a spiritual challenge to even the casual observer. Matt studied Photography at Arizona State University. \"I\'m one of those individuals who loves people. I want my work to reflect the Light in my life and encourage other people to do the same in their own way. One of my favorite parts of taking pictures is seeing peoples faces, when they look at a piece of art, or a picture and seeing their reaction. Sometimes such a simple thing can really change a life.\" - Matt
