Visual Art – Austin

I started making art because everyone kept talking about having a creative outlet. I was not exactly sure what mine was at the time, but I knew I had to try and get something out. I started painting random things and eventually started trying out different forms of expression. I now enjoy learning and taking on different forms of art, which is how I landed on jewelry and needlepoint. I have always been drawn to printmaking because of its tendency towards pop culture. I decided that instead of my canvas be in ink, I would take my art into a more antiquated and tedious avenue, hence needlepoint. I love making references with my art that make people smile so pop art has been a huge influence. I also make a great deal of jewelry and am always looking to try something new in that form. I use natural stones that relate to energy and how people feel while they are wearing my art. I am blessed to have been surrounded by supportive and creative people while I was on my quest to find my own creative expression. I only hope to keep exploring and keep moving forward.
