Gleem Jewellery

I was born with a passion for music and a drive to create. Whether it was directing neighbourhood musicals or designing and sewing fashions for my dolls, I was never happier than when a creative project was underway. At the age of six I discovered the piano, and that led to a lifetime journey with that instrument, resulting in A.R.C.T. and L.M.M. degrees in piano performance, many years of teaching, performing with and coaching bands, and some branching out to percussion and accordion. Along the way I was designing and making clothing, knitting sweaters and scarves, dabbling in painting, and enjoying an intense phase of creating tile mosaic art. At some point I began making jewellery for myself to go with my clothing creations and discovered how much I loved it. Soon I had too much to wear myself so I started to sell it. When it met with enthusiasm, I chose a business name and Gleem was born. I love the \'green\' aspect to my business, as I up-cycle a lot of second hand jewellery and rework vintage pieces, adding pearls, crystals, leather, feathers, metal filigree, and chains. I have a knack for asymmetry, an eye for colour, and a love for fresh combinations of materials. I love creating one-of-a-kind wearable art pieces that help women express their individual sense of style. And I love helping women feel beautiful!
