Visual Art – Indianapolis
Being an art maker brings me joy and is my purpose for being on earth. I create not just for myself but for any and all walks of life. Creating work that makes people feel emotions is the focus of my art. As someone who is a perfectionist, in my head when completing work I ensure that everything is exactly how I envision and make sure all things are aligned and structured. The process can sometimes be stressful but it’s all worth it when seeing the viewers admiration and wide smiles. With my artwork I plan to pursue a career in being an illustrator for children's books and Art Therapy. I aspire to be able to create spaces for any and all people no matter their background and encourage and guide them using artwork. Having anxiety and a scattered mind I sometimes lose myself in my thoughts, often wanting to disappear from reality. During my creative process decisions are made based on how an idea speaks to me. As that idea begins to grow and develop, a sense of power and freedom washes over my body. There are moments where the artist's block takes over. My feeling of motivation is taken away and leaves me lost with a cluttered mindset. Sitting quietly I take a deep breath and try to calm the noise. It sometimes takes over and causes me to want to give up on myself and on life. I begin to remember the way my family and peers express to me how my colorful and playful art brings them so much joy and motivation.
