Performing Art – Atlanta

Indya Childs is devoted to promoting the arts and inspiring young artists through the brilliance of dance. Childs earned her Bachelor of Arts in dance from Kennesaw State University where she was awarded the Outstanding Senior Award. Just one year after graduating, Childs landed a spot as one of “25 to Watch” in the 2015 issue of Dance Magazine. She received enthusiastic appraisal for her performances, stating that “every move pulses with a sense of purpose that’s unquestionably her own.” In her earlier career, Childs studied dance at the Price Performing Arts Center and The Atlanta Ballet. In 2013, Childs launched her professional dance career by joining the Ballethnic Dance Company and T. Lang Dance Company. Childs also has done a great deal of dance modeling working with dance photographers such as Jordan Matter and Richard Calmes. Her most recent work was a dance model for a 2017 dance costume catalog. Though Childs’s first love will always be for the stage, she also enjoys the administrative aspect of dance. She has had the privilege of being Rehearsal Assistant for Dianne McIntyre and served as a guest teacher at Spelman College. As she continues to grow as an artist, critics, teachers, and peers routinely praise Indya’s authenticity and vulnerability. Indya is also represented by Ultimate Model Management in Atlanta, Ga. Whether in dance, choreography, stage managing, or modeling, Indya is driven by excellence. She works hard to inspire other performers with the ultimate goal of promoting the arts.
