Genevieve is an experienced dancer and choreographer based in Sydney, with a Bachelor of Dance degree from the Academy of Music and Performing Arts. As an artist, her training and work is diverse and exciting, and has granted her opportunities across Australia and abroad; most notably, being a part of a two month professional program in London in 2014. As a contemporary dancer, Genevieve has had the opportunity to work with Limitless Dance Company, Dancing Under The Influence Company and has been a part of residencies with many Australian artists. Her performances with these groups and other international choreographers has expanded her repertoire and has heavily influenced her unique style. As a choreographer, Genevieve’s creative works have won a number of awards. Most notably, in Form Dance Projects Sharp Short Dance Festival, winning ‘Most Innovative Choreography’ in 2015, and Fast+Fresh Dance Festival, winning the award for ‘Best Duet’ in 2014. She has also had the opportunity to work with artists across different platforms, choreographing and performing in music videos for Emma Louise and featuring in dance films. Genevieve is also a teacher at a number of dance schools across Sydney, with a great deal of experience in all ages, abilities and styles. As an artist, she is most interested in the diversity and opportunity that dance can bring to both the arts community and wider society. Her works draw from social and physiological concepts that effect our relationships with ourselves and others. In her work, Genevieve seeks to explore and expose these pondering through movement by collaborating with other young, emerging artists. .......................................................................................................................... Sophie Carter is a passionate and dedicated professional dancer and actor based in Sydney. She has completed her Certificate IV in Dance with Full Time Dance study at Brent Street, majoring in Classical/Contemporary. She has had extensive training in ballet, jazz, contemporary, musical theatre, hip hop, acrobatics and lyrical. Sophie is currently working professionally as a company member of DUTI Dance Company as well as DANZA del ARTE Company. She also currently works as a professional showgirl at 'The Magicians Cabaret' Sydney and has recently been featured on Channel 7 'The Morning Show' and performed live at the televised BBR French World Festival as a showgirl and cancan dancer. More recently Sophie was featured in Emma Louise's official music video 'West End Kids' as a dancer and actor. She has worked with many internationally known choreographers, including Alana Scanlan and David Atkins. In 2015 Sophie travelled to Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York, training with world leading choreographers in the commercial dance and musical theatre industries, as well as taking classes at the world famous Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and the Martha Graham Contemporary Dance School. She has participated in a number of Acting intensives at Brent Street Studios as well as having the opportunity to take part in the 'Stellar Adler Workshop' run by the Art of Acting Studio based in LA. With her diverse range of knowledge and experience, Sophie is continuing to expand her creative endeavours and pass on her knowledge through her teaching, while still remaining passionate and focused in her dance performance career.
