Music – Brisbane

Jac Stone tells stories when she sings, and when she sings people listen. Rarely does an artist step onto a stage and make an impression like Jac. More impressive still, this unassuming songstress does it by simply standing there and telling her story, without ever needing to even slightly deviate from who she really is. In the past couple of years Jac has graced the stage at the Splendour in the Grass festival, supported Powderfinger on their farewell tour and performed extensively around her adopted hometown of Brisbane. Growing up in the northern Queensland town of Charters Towers, Jac began singing and playing the guitar in her teens. Songwriting soon followed, and in 2008 she moved to Brisbane to pursue more gigs and to hone her songwriting skills. In 2010 Jac recorded her debut EP “Leave Me Here” with Darren Middleton (of Powderfinger fame) and Yanto Browning. 2011 saw the release of the EP and also saw Jac and her band playing sold out shows at venues such as Brisbane’s iconic Troubadour. This year Jac reached the finals in the 2013 production of The Voice, which also resulted in her 1st EP returning to the iTunes charts. Jac Stone has been writing and performing new material and is back in the studio putting the finishing touches on her new EP and plans to launch mid 2014.
