J.A. Hernandez is a multifaceted creative known for his work as an entrepreneur, photographer, visual arts designer, filmmaker, and author, with a lifelong passion for storytelling and worldbuilding. At just 13 years old, Hernandez launched his first YouTube channel, Dose of Tech, marking the beginning of his journey into media and creative production. From there, he continued to evolve, sharpening his visual craft and voice. He went on to study filmmaking at Toronto Film School and earned a Professional Certificate in Visual Design from the University of Calgary... a three-year program he completed in just one year. Today, Hernandez leads Futureplay Media, a new publishing brand focused on bringing bold, original stories to life. The company is debuting with the infamous Duragon webcomic and graphic novel—an award-winning series recognized by the MangaPlus Monthly Awards, hosted by Shueisha, the world’s largest manga publisher. With years of hands-on experience and cross-disciplinary training, Hernandez now steps forward as a new voice in graphic storytelling—blending the emotional depth and cinematic pacing of manga with the bold aesthetics and narrative grit of Western comics to forge something distinct and globally resonant.
