Visual Art – Montréal
Tactile abstractions that embody aerial landscapes reminiscent of Richard Diebenkorn work, coupled with Hans Hoffman’s colours and play with paint show my early explorations with abstracts resembling forms and pure Colors , perfect squares or gestural smears of thick drippy oil and acrylic paints, as well as ink, oil pastel and charcoal.
I have also explored Picasso’s continuous line drawings, by creating my own series of drawings in my my Body Forms and Animal collection. For this series, available as fine art prints, each original drawing was created without any preparation or practice and done in one swift and confident continuous line, using ink pens.
My paintings, and drawings deeply explore the history of art, mark making, gesture and action painting at its core. I adore the power of paintings to evoke emotion in the viewer and that deep feelings and memories can be provoked by the use of powerful paint strokes, vibrant and intentional colour palettes and the use of textures.
