Visual Art – Calgary
Jasmine Abbey is an artist who lives and works on a bison ranch just south of Arrowwood, Alberta. She works in a variety of mediums including: acrylic, oil, ink, graphite, and chalk. Her acrylic paintings are brightly coloured with neon underpaintings and she loves to use shades of blue. When she paints with oil, it tends to be more realistic yet you can still see the brushwork. You’ll see subjects ranging from wildlife, floral, landscape, portrait, and lettering. In 2012, she received a BA in History of Art, Design and Visual Culture from the University of Alberta. Then in 2013 she completed a diploma in Digital Illustration and Sequential Art.
