Photography – Boston

From an early age, I\'ve been absolutely and utterly enthralled with anything foreign--especially if that foreignness has anything to do with Eastern Europe or Russia. This unexplainable captivation not only resulted in a bachelors degree in Russian and Eastern European Studies from the University of Michigan, but also pulled me to live in Hungary, Russia and Ukraine and travel to fifteen other foreign countries--always bringing some sort of camera along with me to capture the idiosyncrasies of whatever new world I was hopping into. Somewhere along the way--during my second year in Kiev, Ukraine to be precise--I made the tough decision to turn my hobby into a profession and not long after, moved back to the United States where I underwent a 9 month photography program at Boston University\'s Center for Digital Imaging and Arts. My life experiences coupled with formal training, have taught me to notice fine details that often go overlooked. I have a great appreciation for obvious beauty, but perhaps an even greater appreciation for the kind of beauty that is not so obvious and feed on the creative challenge to bring out either in my photography.
