Visual Art – Perth

Taken by the natural beauty of my home land, WA. I pursued a career in Design and Visual Art for a period in my early 20's before embarking on a great adventure; across, up, down and inside out of Western Australia where I found unlimited points of inspiration. On my journey I have had the pleasure of attending workshops by two of my most treasured influences: photographer Christian Fletcher and the amazing landscape painter Larry Mitchell. My thirst to learn new techniques persist as I experiment in life drawing, oils, pottery, ink, printmaking, pastels and photography, however I aim to continue developing my work with my medium of choice - acrylics. I was raised in a small coastal town south of Lancelin, our weekends were spent four-wheel driving down the 'Back Beach', one where you rarely saw another soul. We took nothing and left nothing behind, we cherished it. Today it is over driven, rubbished and spoilt. These places need to be respected. My focus is to discover and preserve the memory of a landscape for those who love and appreciate it. My work is filled with finely detailed brush strokes and carefully mixed colour, I want you to feel as if you are right there. I now work from my home studio in Mundaring, WA. In May 2015 I hosted a solo exhibition at Houghton's Winery Swan Valley, this was my first public showing and I found it very rewarding, gaining recognition and positive praise for my works. I am booked to exhibit at Houghton's Moondyne Gallery in January 2017.
