Fashion – Toronto
Jenna LaRose is a Toronto based interdisciplinary artist, with a background in fibres and material practices from Concordia University in Montréal QC. Intrinsically, she strives to fragment the conceptually contrived art/craft divide through her wearable artworks, paintings, and digital manifestations. With an affinity for the aesthetics of contemporary fashion culture, her work reflects bodily relationships to socially constructed spaces, in order to express the dissonances she recognizes as a female millennial in negotiation with identity. Her latest body of work posits tattooing as an effective access point to spark an aesthetic revolution in putative femininity.
