Jordan Baraniecki

Visual Art – Regina

Jordan Baraniecki is an International emerging artist from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He works primarily in drawing, which acts as a springboard to the other mediums he explores, such as photography and installation. Jordan had the opportunity to study at three universities across Canada for his education, and he graduated in 2016 from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design with a major in Fine Art. In 2018 he embarked on an artist residency in Poland to find a sense of belonging with his Polish heritage; turns out he was more Canadian than he thought. Upon returning he brought back new ideas about creating work that could fit back into his suitcase; minimizing his material footprint in the environmentally conscious world we now live in. His interest in philosophy has opened his mind to the idea that there are things around us that are going on, whether we see them or not. This idea comes from the changing of the world, but also the ideas that are rooted in the present moment. Jordan has shown his work in Toronto ON, Columbus OH, Fort Collins CO, and Poland. He is a member of the Invisible Artists Collective International. Currently he is proudly funded by Saskatchewan Arts Board for his 2019 projects.
