Performing Art – Northern Rivers

My name is Joshee Mannix. I teach Balance and Awareness using a slackline. Slacklining can be described as walking, balancing or doing various tricks on a line tensioned between two anchors (trees are perfect). It may seem similar to tightrope walking, however the slackline webbing is woven nylon and the line itself is not perfectly tight - rather stretchy and dynamic. My intention is to bring students out of the mind and into the awareness of self, through breathing techniques, focus and stillness. I believe the key to balance is in our awareness, to get out of the busy-ness of our mind and into the feeling of what we are doing. I believe life is about balance. Balance of the mind, body and spirit. For the past 4 - 5 years i have been slacklining all around Australia, and some beautiful parts of the world, teaching and sharing, learning and facilitating all things related to balance. Balance is daily practise and practise is fun with slackline :)
