Julie Cole

Julie has always had her hands in something creative. Born and raised in Colorado, it was face painting and playing with photoshop, which quickly turned into full love for art and creation. At CSU, where Julie received her BFA in Graphic Design, she quickly broadened her horizons with painting, sculpture, fiber and drawings classes.. she couldn\'t get enough. With each new medium she touched, a new voice seemed to come out of the wood work. Julie finds that art is her way of communicating her view of the world and understanding its complexities. The past few years have been wonderful for Julie, working as a full time artist. In January of 2013 she had her first solo show at the Oz Gallery in Thornton, Colorado. She was also a featured artist on A&E\'s network FYI T.V. show, Tiny House Nation, Episode 5, where she created a heartwarming sign for a couple who had lost their house in a wild fire. She looks forward to what exciting experience comes next! Her life has had its own ups and downs, but for each hill and valley there is something to learn. In April of 1999, she was a junior at Columbine High School and lived through the terrible shootings that took place that day. Since then, she has suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and has found herself able to embrace the trauma, and help it lead her to a more purposeful and meaningful life.
