Visual Art – Sydney

I\'ve been making art as a way of life for most of my life, although, it\'s only been in the last few years that I have been exhibiting my work more regularly. Many of the ideas that inform my current work hark back to my youth in Sydney in the 90\'s, primarily inspired by the live music, festival and underground comic book culture but also many high art influences, particularly Australian art of the 60\'s and 70\'s and the young British artists of the 1990\'s. I was born in Sydney, where my mothers family originate and my father is from London. British popular culture had a heavy influence on my upbringing and through my art I often attempt to rectify and merge these influences to represent my unique perspective from suburban Sydney, particularly outside the influence of . or in response to the dominant media.
