Janel is a Pittsburgh-raised, New York City-based artist with a focus on abstract and landscape works, including styles that contain lots of blending, bright or metallic colors, geometric inspired work and multi-panel series. Her media of preference as a painter are acrylic, spray paint, oil and watercolor on wood or canvas. Janel has been been drawing and painting since she could pick up the proper utensils. She was very involved in the creative and performing arts as a child, being featured in her first exhibit in just 5th grade in Pittsburgh, PA. She went on to attend Rogers CAPA Middle School where she majored in visual arts and developed a love for painting and blending. In high school, Janel completed two years of International Baccalaureate Art and held a private solo showcase of her work upon completion. She then continued her craft as a hobby throughout college and since graduation has made creating a steady part of her personal life. Janel enjoys creating original pieces for a growing audience, including commissioned work across the country.
